Ana Ivanović (Cyrillic Ана Ивановић; * November 6, 1987 in Belgrade) is a Serbian professional tennis player. It was 2008 for three months, the number 1 world ranking in tennis. On 8 September 2007, she was next to Jelena Janković, Aleksandar Djordjević Emir Kusturica and UNICEF ambassador for Serbia. It is specifically for education and protection of children [1].

By playing tennis, she began as a 5-year-old, after it on television saw Monica Seles play. Her mother, Dragana, a lawyer, and her father, Miroslav, a business man who reported it to a tennis school. During the NATO bombing of Serbia they trained in a converted swimming pool in Belgrade Sports Center. At the age of 14 she moved with her mother to Switzerland, where she saw an opportunity, to improve their game. The Basel businessman Dan Holzmann was their manager. Ivanović has no permanent coach but is working with several, including Sven Groeneveld, together [2]. Her first professional season began in August 2003 with the participation of four ITF tournaments.

Ivanović first big success was reaching the finals in the juniors at Wimbledon, she lost against Kateryna Bondarenko. On the ITF Tour, she won 26 games in a row and five of the tournaments. Her first big appearance on the WTA Tour was the match against Venus Williams in October in Zurich. They lost 7:6 (11) and 7:6 (6), although they had several balls sentence. In 2007 succeeded Ivanović a tournament success by winning in Berlin against Svetlana Kuznetsova. At the French Open, she reached the semifinals after beating Maria Sharapova (6:2 6:1) for the first time a Grand Slam final. They lost, however, clearly marked with 1:6 and 2:6 against Justine Henin. In the semifinals at Wimbledon, she met on the U.S. American Venus Williams and lost with 2:6 and 4:6. Beginning of the year, Ivanović reached for the first time the finals of the Australian Open, but then lost to Maria Sharapova in two sets. By reaching the final round put them in the world rankings to second place before. The Dubai Tennis Championships in March, she managed it until the quarterfinals, but was subject Dementjewa Jelena. In Indian Wells, she won her biggest title to date in the finals against third-world Svetlana Kuznetsova.
